Millions of men and women have been successfully treated. Treatment is customized according to hair color, texture, and the area being targeted. Treatment for most hair colors typically yields high levels of success and patient satisfaction. Treatment is effective on all skin types, including dark-skinned individuals of all ethnic origins.

Side effects are rare. Sensitivity, irritation, and redness may occur at the treatment site but then quickly disappears. Susceptibility to these side effects will be identified during your consultation. To greatly minimize the risk of side effects, sun exposure must be limited prior to and immediately following treatment.

Preliminary setup involves cleansing and shaving the area to be treated. A laser is then directed toward the area and produces a beam of highly concentrated light. Without damaging the surrounding tissue, controlled pulses of light penetrate the skin and are absorbed by hair follicles. The heat generated in the process discourages and ultimately destroys the hair and its potential for regrowth. Post-treatment includes a cleanup of the treated area and the application of a sunblock. Large areas such those found on the back, shoulders, abdomen, and legs are rapidly treated. Smaller facial areas like the lip, chin, and beard can be treated in minutes.

Shaving the day before or just prior to treatment is recommended and you may shave again twenty-four hours after treatment unless your provider tells you otherwise.

Typically, 6-8 treatments is adequate to provide permanent hair reduction. However, after a one-on-one consultation, a member of our staff may determine that based on the density of your hair, hair color and skin color, you may require additional treatment. We will advise you. It’s not unusual to require a touch-up treatment two years after completing laser hair removal treatments.

Actively growing hairs that are treated should not grow back. Once a hair follicle is damaged it cannot grow hair. However, hair follicles that were not in the active growth phase will need to be treated. It’s also not unusual for patients to have a touch-up two years after initial treatment due to hormonal changes

Hair growth occurs in 4 stages: Early Anagen (early hair growth), Anagen (active hair growth) Catagen (regression) Telogen (resting, not growing) Laser hair removal only affects the Anagen stage, (actively growing hair). Therefore, approximately twenty-five-percent of hair is removed with each treatment. After 6-8 treatments, the area should be free from hair.

Most people find the Pain-Free, Hair-Free™ laser hair removal treatment comfortable, especially when compared to other hair removal methods and lasers. This is one of few laser hair removal procedures where numbing cream is not necessary. Pain is subjective, however, so if you find it otherwise simply talk to your provider.

Medium areas include: any 3”x5” area, areolae to breast, bikini line, breasts or cleavage, buttocks (1/3), chin (extended), feet, hands, jawline, neck (front or back), stomach (full line), thighs (inner), underarms, upper lip and chin

Large areas include: beard, abdomen, arms (lower or upper), bikini region, brazilian bikini, playboy bikini, buttocks, forearms, full face (upper lip, chin, sideburns, and brow), legs (lower), lower back, shoulders, upper back, upper chest

Extra-Large areas include: chest and abdomen, full arms, full back, upper thighs, shoulders and neck.
