BOTOX® is a safe, effective treatment that takes approximately ten minutes to complete. Using a fine needle, BOTOX® is injected into the specific muscle that is contracting and causing the wrinkles to form. The injection causes the muscles being treated to relax. BOTOX® is FDA-approved as a treatment for severe underarm sweating when medicines used on the skin do not work well enough. BOTOX® is injected into the affected areas to help control this condition by temporarily blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. Here at B Medical Spa, a member of our staff will test the sweat glands in your underarm to determine which glands are overactive. Next, a small amount of BOTOX® is injected into these overactive sweat glands in a quick, 10–15-minute procedure using a very fine needle. You should notice a significant reduction in underarm sweating within four weeks of your first treatment, and the reduced sweating lasts up to 201 days or 6.7 months
